Friend, Sister, Mother

Thank you...
Thank You Aunty May for being the good friend, sister, mother to me.
Thank You so much for the non-stop nagging because you love me.
Thank You for all the wonderful memories of the times we have together.
Thank You for always looking out for me.
Thank You for alway going the extra mile.
Thank You for alway taking time off to entertain me at your table.
Thank You for alway laughing at all my silly jokes.
Thank You for the constant verbal sparrings that we share.
Thank You for all the trust you have in me.
Thank You for all the bak gua i took from you through the years.
Thank You for the smiles you leave in my life.
Thank You for the love you have for church.
Thank You for the meals that we enjoyed together.
Thank You for the tea-breaks that we have together.
Thank You for always listening to all my nonsenses.
Thank You for the gifts that you bought for me.
Thank You for all the scoldings that you did not hold back when i did something wrong.
Thank you for leaving a legacy behind.
Thank you for always being the big sister and sometimes the mother.

I will always remember...
the times when you would share with me why you loved to ride the bike,
the times you would share your drinks and food with me,
the times you would laugh and make fun of me,
the times you would pray with me,
the times you would ask me if i had my meals,
the times when i will come into the office and shout your name, "Aunty May May May May May",
the time when i told you of my first girlfriend,
the times when i will rush you to quickly get married,
the times when i will try to hide from you because i know you are going to scold me,
the times when you will inform me of the traffic offences i had committed while driving the church van,
the times when we have durians together,
the time when we cooked fried rice for lunch with aunty emily and how generous you were with the luncheon meat,
the times when you will always shout from the balcony of No. 8 office to ask me go buy you coffee,
the time when you, aunty emily and i went for a chinese new year lunch on new year eve,
and i will always remember your back view as you zoom off in your yellow vespa.
I will always remember you...

You have taught me...
to stand firm in our faith among unbelievers,
not to be afraid of criticism,
to stand up for what i believe in,
to be responsible,
to love and protect the church in every way,
to love like Jesus love.

You might not have fulfilled the promise of attending my wedding but i'm glad that i have fulfilled mine which is to sing for you. I have many regrets but i know your wish is for me to lay it down at Daddy's feets. I might not have said it in your face but i just want to say how much i appreciate you and deep down, i really really love you. I wish i had said that to you while you were still around but i know one day i would be able to say it to you in your face when i meet you again in heaven. I know i will miss you and miss seeing you in the office and church.

I thank God for bringing me through these few days and especially today. It wasn't easy to see you gone from the face of the earth but i know you will always live in my heart. You have made such a big difference in my life. Thank You... There is still so much that i want to say to you...

I know you will laugh at me if you see this post but i know i don't have to worry about it until i see you again in heaven.

Till we meet again in heaven...
